If you are registering more than one skater, you can return to the registration page and complete the additional form(s) before checking out. When selecting the sessions, there is an option to increase the number of sessions before you add them to the cart.
Where multiple sessions are available, if you click the button for that session, the applicable fee will be displayed at the top of the page. The session will not be added to the cart until you click on the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the page.
If you have a discount code, that can be added during the checkout process. The "Add a coupon code" link should appear on the left hand side of the page, opposite the Subtotal line.
Speed Skating Skills Development Program 7:10 - 7:50 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays
For the skater who loves to go fast, skills development is the key. With learning still focused on the fun of participating in sport, key skills are developed through instruction, drills, games and fun racing. Skaters continue through progressively more advanced skills development, working their way through the various levels of the Speed Skating Canada Cutting Edge Pin Program. Skaters can continue into the Recreational Program, or the Competitive Program.
SSC/SSNS annual fees ($30) are included in the fees shown. They are payable only once per season, and will be deducted from the fees shown if paid earlier in the season.
Recreational 14+ Program 7:10-7:50 Tuesdays only
The recreational program is for skaters (14+) with good skating skills who want to try speed skating or improve their speed skating skills, and may enjoy competing, but on a recreational basis. This program provides technical instruction, conditioning training, and fun but challenging activities.
2020 - 2021 Speed Skating Skills Development 1
This program is new this year. Speed Skating Skills Development 1 is for skaters with good skating skills who are ready to begin learning speed skating skills on the full ice surface. Skaters may have previously completed the Full Speed Ahead program, or may have good skating skills from previous training or other sports.
Speed skates are available for rent from the club, see this link.
Skaters will need safety equipment including a helmet, safety glasses, neck protector, cut-resistant gloves, knee pads, shin guards and Kevlar or Dyneema ankle protection. Contact the club for information.
Skaters must register separately with Speed Skating Canada / Speed Skate Nova Scotia through the IceReg system at this link before the first ice session. Select the Payment Plan Preregistration option.
