2020 - 2021 Speed Skating Skills Development 1
This program is new this year. Speed Skating Skills Development 1 is for skaters with good skating skills who are ready to begin learning speed skating skills on the full ice surface. Skaters may have previously completed the Full Speed Ahead program, or may have good skating skills from previous training or other sports.
Skaters will be assigned to a cohort of up to nine skaters plus one coach. Registration is limited to 24 participants due to the arena's Covid-19 guidelines.
Speed skates are available for rent from the club, see this link.
Skaters will need safety equipment including a helmet, safety glasses, neck protector, cut-resistant gloves, knee pads, shin guards and Kevlar or Dyneema ankle protection. Contact the club for information.
Skaters must register separately with Speed Skating Canada / Speed Skate Nova Scotia through the IceReg system at this link before the first ice session.
