Dartmouth Crossing Speed Skating Club is excited to host the 2024 Dartmouth Crossing Sprints on Saturday March 2nd, 2024 from 8AM to 3PM.
We look forward to welcoming skaters, sledge racers, and families to our Olympic sized ice surface at RBC Centre in Dartmouth.

This competition is open to all clubs in the Atlantic Region and will include a Masters Division, a Sledge Racing Division, a Special Olympics Division.
The Dartmouth Crossing Sprints is a Speed Skating Canada sanctioned event that will be conducted according to the rules and regulations as defined by SSC with respect to the skating track, officiating, safety features, and other aspects involved in the event. Participation in this event requires an active, issued Speed Skate Canada (SSC) membership with the exception of Sledge racers. |

The Dartmouth Crossing Sprints will be following the abilities meet format, and will include Special Olympics, Sledge Racing and Masters divisions. Most racing will be on the 85m and 100m tracks, with the 111m track offered for for Special Olympics and Masters only. Skaters 14 and older are welcome to attend and race on the 100M track.

The meet is held on the Olympic size Arena D at the RBC Centre at 259 Commodore Drive, Dartmouth NS.
Entering Halifax-Dartmouth from the east on NS-118, take Exit 12 by the IKEA store to Wright Ave, then left on John Savage Drive and right on Commodore Drive. From the west, take the Burnside Drive exit off NS-111 and turn right off Burnside Drive onto Commodore. |

Registration Closes:
Wednesday February 21st, 2024 at 6 pm. Skaters/sledge racers will be seeded based on their most recent times from the current season. If this is the first competition of the season, or a new entry, time from 2022-23 skating season or a coach's time from practice may be considered. These must be sent by coaches to the Meet Recorder at [email protected] no later than February 25th, 2024 at 8 pm. Note that the last day to withdraw (with refund, less ICEREG fees) is Monday, February 26 at 8 pm. |

Safety:
|
The safety of all skaters will be paramount. The Dartmouth Crossing Sprints meet padding will be at safety level 3. Skaters should check with their coaches to make sure they do not exceed the level 3 limit as outlined in the Speed Skating Canada guidelines at this link.
Per SSC rules for skaters:
Sledge racers should have a helmet with a cage, neck guard, cut resistant gloves, and all skin covered from the mid-neck down. |
