Skills Development Program

Masters Introductory and Intermediate

For the skater who loves to go fast, skills development is the key. This program is for skaters with previous skating experience and graduates of the Full Speed Ahead Program.

With learning still focused on the fun of participating in sport, key skills are developed through instruction, drills, games and fun racing. Skaters continue through progressively more advanced skills development, working their way through the various levels of the Speed Skating Canada Cutting Edge Pin Program.

There are two levels to the program, Skills Development 1 and Skills Development 2.  For skaters with previous skating experience but new to speed skating, contact the club to arrange an assessment of the best level to start at.

The recreational program is for skaters (19+) with speed skating experience who want to continue to improve their speed skating skills, and may enjoy competing, but on a recreational basis.

The Masters Introductory program is on the ice with Skills Development 1 and Masters Intermediate is on the ice with Skills Development 2.

This program provides technical instruction, conditioning training, and fun but challenging activities.
