Learn to Skate and Speed Skating

(registration is closed for the 2019-2020 season)

Did you arrive in Canada from a warmer climate, where skating wasn't a regular pastime?

Would you like to participate in this favourite Canadian winter sport?

Would you like your kids to have more fun on school trips to the oval?  Want to take your family to skate on the oval on Saturday or Sunday afternoons in the winter?

We offer a number of options to learn to skate, or speed skate, either individually or as a family.  All indoors, where the temperature is moderate, and weather isn't a concern.

Wondering about understanding instructions if English is still pretty new?  Don't worry, everything is demonstrated on the ice, so you can just follow what everyone is doing, and there are lots of coaches if you ever need assistance.

Learn to Skate

While our Off to a Good Start programs are oriented to children, we offer Adult learn to skate programs at the same time.  We run our programs on the big Olympic size ice surface at Dartmouth Crossing.  So you can come to the arena together, and be on the ice at the same time, just in separate groups.

Learn to Speed Skate

If you've discovered that you love to skate, and like to go fast, you can continue in one of our speed skating programs.  We have programs for all ages and abilities.
