Halifax, Nova Scotia (April 10, 2017) –
The Dartmouth Crossing Speed Skating Club is proud to announce that Todd Landon will be joining us as Head Coach, effective April 10, 2017. Todd will provide leadership and direction to the club’s coaching staff and oversee their development and certification; and will lead the development and delivery of the club’s speed skating programs. He will also develop and deliver the club’s high performance speed skating program, which will be available beginning in May 2017.
About Todd Landon:
Speed skating for Todd Landon began in 1986 as a way to supplement his hockey skating but evolved into a lifelong passion. Over his speed skating career he developed into a national level competitor then transitioned into a coach and administrator.
Through it all he has been a positive role model, leader, and ambassador for the sport. With a long-term approach to coaching that supports the best interest and experience for the skater he has positively impacted the wholistic development of skaters who rank among the best in Canada. Open to sharing his training and experience he has worked with coaches, clubs, and associations across the country to mentor and facilitate progress and proficiency.
Since beginning his coaching duties in Halifax in 2012 Todd has instilled a sense of confidence in Nova Scotia's skaters and coaches and proven that they can be competitive at the national level. Todd is excited about the opportunity to work with the Dartmouth Crossing Speed Skating Club to be able to continue to contribute his leadership in the sport he has a passion for.
